Our Favorite Balloon Installations of 2020

2020 definitely brought its challenges. At Pink Flamingo Party Co., we pride ourselves in being party people and having a business relying heavily on other people partying, it was quite the daunting year, but we rallied and still managed to have some great (and safe) experiences! From micro-weddings to graduation celebrations, or a creative styled shoot, we were stretched this year and are so glad we were! Here are our top favorites of 2020!

#6: The BIG 5-0

When people had to shift their regular birthday plans, so many people went big (as you should) on decorating for their intimate gatherings or drive by birthday parties. We absolutely love this over the top balloon display that we did with these larger than life light up numbers and a very pink balloon display.

Pro Tip: You can rent these 4 foot marquee numbers (letters too!) directly from us for you big events! We love how the colors work with each other on this one, and how extravagant the large balloon display looks on these numbers.

#5: Why is Everything Chrome: Dance Recital Backdrop

For so many kids and teens, many end of the year activities were cancelled or altered, which was heartbreaking. We were so glad to be able to bring some excitement into some of these big moments that looked differed this year due to covid. We did this absolutely gorgeous garland for a young girl having her dance recital from her home. These chrome colors remind us of the TikTok dance - why is everything chrome...well...because it should be.

#4: There are never enough balloons

This was one of our largest balloon displays this year with more balloons in the backyard.  These balloons were featured (along with our family) on the cover of the Glastonbury Neighbors Magazine.  Creating this super long and bright garland just to bring some happiness to the Glastonbury neighborhood, was such a blast for us.

 #3 Black Lives Matter

On Juneteenth we were able to bring Black Lives Matter balloons to the State Capitol building in Connecticut to adorn the outside staircase. This picture was taken a few hours before thousands of people gathered in Hartford, Connecticut to march against racial injustice.

We also brought several Black Lives Matter garlands to local businesses in the area. We are a proud Black-owned business and being able to use our art as a voice on this day, for something we are so passionate about, was an incredible honor and an awesome moment for us.

 #2: College Graduation Celebration

We loved doing this fun display for Madeline when she graduated from the University of St. Andrews. Madelines University in Scotland has a yearly tradition of a town-wide graduation extravaganza and unfortunately due to the pandemic she was unable to celebrate an event she has look forward to for so long. We are happy we could help bring a balloon extravaganza to West Hartford to help them celebrate an amazing accomplishment.

Our jumbo confetti helium balloons and the jumbo starbursts really upgrade the garlands and make them stand out. We were so glad to be able to help people still celebrate their major accomplishments, when their original plans had to shift.

Fun fact: After this install, we have been back to this neighborhood over 5 times for balloon garland installations for drive-by parties.

#1: Friendsgiving Styled Shoot

We LOVE doing styled shoots and this one has to take our number one spot. We had so many incredible vendors join in with us on our Friendsgiving styled shoot. We loved planning every aspect of this day. We had an absolute blast designing the table scape and making sure everything would go perfectly together. The balloon garland features custom colored balloons that are double-stuffed! The warm jewel tones paired with the creamy green are absolutely breathtaking, and we cant imagine this shoot coming out any better.

Major Props to SMS Photo for this awesome shot.

So how about you, party people? Do you agree? What were your faves that we did in 2020? Let us know in the comments!

Stay Rad,

xx
